I am going to the Westec show next week, to learn about new
technology. Is there anybody on this list whose firm is exhibiting
there that has information on metric technology?
Why try to convert when actually 'on the job'? What does converting achieve,
when you're communicating only with others who are also talking metric? All
this does is (a) slow down your understanding of the metric system (or anything
new, for that matter), (b) increase the probability of
A periodic function is *more regular* in time than a cyclical function.
Examples:
Sunrise and sunset are nearly periodic in time, but *slowly* change with the
seasons in a well predictable regularity.
The shedding of tree leaves is cyclical, but not accurately predictable, being
much less
Well, it's fairly obvious that, in that context, they should have said
something like categories of metrics.
