Dear Americans,
Please don¹t complain about the price of petrol being $1 a litre or even
$1.25 a litre. We¹re paying $1.39 a litre in Sydney, Australia, for 10%
ethanol, and at the moment, our dollar is marginally higher than yours.

One way to move forward on the question of optional metric-only labelling
might be to approach the two remaining states that don't allow it and ask
them to change their laws.
If these two states could fall into line with the other 48 states, wouldn't
the change be nation-wide?

In Australia we have no 1c and 2c coins any more. The smallest coin is the
5c coin. Prices are still quoted in single cents, but when you pay in coin
the price is rounded up or down. So $19.98 and $19.99 will cost you $20, but
$19.97 and $19.96 will be rounded down to $19.95.
Australian coins are
