Hi:
If you use Autovala, you can use the plugins for Gedit or
Scratch-Text-Editor.

Hello all!
I don't want to start another vim vs emacs holywar. I want to know if there

I tried valama, but it is crashing all the time and I don't know how to fix it.

I tried Monodevelop under Linux (Ubuntu 11.04).
Under Linux it does not seem very interesting, since it does not appear to

Therefore I did not try it under Mac OS X.

Did you tried MonoDevelop? There is a version for OSX which should probably

Hi,
I am new to Vala and looking for an IDE to use on OSX. My preference would

b. is there a compilation of MonoDev

I've installed MD from the ubuntu repos and compiled libafrodite and copied to
the /usr/lib folder, but MD keeps complaining that afrodite is not installed...

Can you explain the problems you had? What version of anjuta do you have?

There is limited support for autotools. Valencia can detect your project
root (i.e. the master Makefile) for an autotools project and execute make
when you select the Project -> Build command, but it won't know which
executable you want when you select Project -> Run. More information can be

Hooray! Feedback and bug reports are welcome, either here, on

I think it is not a good idea to hide the source file because many
operations require knowledge of the file organisation (SCV, small patch,
eavy change of the code structure).
For me, the concept is to offer another view of a file/project but not to
hide the file/project ;) .

Just a coin:
I still remember in Visual Basic the source codes are organized as nodes
in the navigator tree. The programmer pick up the node, and write code
in that node. If the programmer doesn't save the file as plain text, the

The idea is also used in VisualAge, an I
* a navigator tree that inspect the current file is a very useable feature
like in [http://www.netbeans.org/features/ide/editor.html].
May be easier to make with the full integration of libvala on the
IDE.
* Integration with valadoc to display help with the autocompletion.
others ideas ?
