please be warned that vbox 3.0.0 can kill your XP guests. I just tried to
migrate from vbox 2.4 to vbox 3.0.0 on opensuse 11.1 and had to find out that
after de-installing 2.4 guest additions the XP installation cycles in crashes
during boot up.

well, I don't know if you really need additional input, but these are my top
five being a first-time vbox user (linux host, XP guest):
1) DVD/CD drive recognition does not really work as expected. Effectively all
the hardware I tried vbox on tried to convince me using /dev/fd0 as DVD
