I've seen that there is active thread about MS_DOS on this list so I add
my three penny :-)
I have legacy application running under MS-DOS . It runs for few
seconds and next freezes . (It doesn't react to "Send Alt-Ctrl-DEL" or
"Reset" )

My config.sys contains himem.sys , but it only enables HMA AFAIR it is
64kb block after first 1Mb.

I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here if I mention that due to the
availability of guest additions for dos, and win98, I run pc-dos7,
win3.0, and another vm with win95 under virtual pc 2007, and that

I would thought caching is covered by the host.
