This question is not specifically vpopmail but I'm hoping that someone can help me
better understand qmail and tcpserver. Here goes: As I understand after reading the
docs for tcpserver that if I use the -p option with qmail-smtpd that it will reject

Hi all,
I use vpopmail on qmail. My forwarding doesn't work
today. I checked the logs and see the line below. Normal mail are going the
local users. But when it has a .qmail file in its directory to forwarding, the
mail doesn't forward to the destination.

This looks like a problem.
However the mail system seems to be running fine. Could someone shed some
light on this kernel log message for me. It's off a freebsd 4.2 -stable
system.
Thanks.

Your Received line breaks down like this:

If the remote server is not running ident it will lag SMTP connections

Hi there
We have setup a mailbox for a customer. This mailbox collects all mail
for a domain (i.e. no: bounce-no-mailbox).
The customer uses pullmail to collect the mail for the domain and
streams it into his exchange server. The exchange server distributes the
mail to the receipients.

I didn't get a reply on this message, So I thought I'd send it back to the
list. I've got a system that either didn't send an overquota message to the
user, or only sent one.
How many times does vpopmail send over quota warnings?
Thanks

No customers reports of missing mail, though
I upgraded last week to 4.9.10 - but still it dumps the core once in a

Title: Issues with vpopmail and roaming
Good Morning:
I have quite a situation here with vpopmail+roaming.
I'm running a system with qmail+vpopmail(trying to use roaming)+mysql
Everything works, I can check mail with no problem authenticating from the mysql database.. But, I can't get
Hello,
I'm using qmail 1.03 with vpopmail 4.9.8-1.
There's a .qmail-file that looks like this:
(location: /home/vpopmail/domain/mydomain.com/user/.qmail)
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
./Maildir/
I want to forward messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] but also keep
them in the Maildir. That does not work.
The 4.9 releases do not support Maildir delivery in your
users .qmail file.
The 4.10 release does, but it is in development.

Is there another way to forward an keep messages?
Does program execution ( |program ) work with vpopmail 4.9.8?

Yes. Instead of putting the .qmail file in the users

vchkpw is ment to be called from qmail-popup
It attempts to read the user/pass from file
descriptor 3.
Why are you running it on
Man, there sure are ALLOT of unlink commands in qmail itself.. I just hope
it's all in the Imap crud.. But this has me worried.
I wonder how much more psedo-lame code there is out there.

qmail doesn't have native IMAP support.

First, let me say that I'm really impressed by the recent developments of
the vpopmail package - its helped me sell qmail/vpopmail to
management. Good work guys!
For my suggestion: This came up during one of the many meetings I had
getting vpopmail running at the ISP I work for..
Would it be
Steve,
This is very easily worked around by just creating the domain as usual
(vadddomain) and then just removing the directory of the slave domain and
making a symbolic link from the slave to the master domain.
Cheers!

Steve,
The feature is already part of the VPOPMail system, try using
vaddaliasdomain in your vpopmail bin directory. The command
vaddaliasdomain: usage: [options] new_domain old_domain
Would allow you to alias the .net and .org to the .com

I understand [EMAIL PROTECTED] is working on integrated filtering
for vpopmail.
Could we hear some details on how it's going to work,
operationally?
Will it support multiple-levels (server, domain, user) of
filtering?

you need to compile this file into a cdb file first before this
statement affects anything. you do that calling tcprules:
tcprules /etc/smtp.cdb /etc/smtp.cdb.tmp /etc/tcp.smtp
then the ip should be able to relay if you use your tcp.cdb file with
tcpserver using the -x parameter...
greetz hope
I'm not sure which is to blame here, or really where to start.. So I'll
start with the nicest bunch of people first ;)
Seems for some reason netscape ver 4.60/.61 when you put [EMAIL PROTECTED]
as the pop account name decides to throw 1/2 the information to popup
daemon. Or.. the popup daemon
Alex,
Try using a : instead of @ in the email address for login to the pop3 server
(ie nix:hosting2000.com instead of [EMAIL PROTECTED])
That should resolve your problem

I ran into the same problem when I compiled sqwebmail.
First of all, I had this problem on a system running slackware 7.1 with the following:

and here's my sqwebmail config options:
