With all do respect, that installation procedure described in the link below
will miss a lot of incoming email - starting with email coming to aliases of
real accounts, which are defiled with .qmail- pointing directly to
the destination maildir, like qmailadmin is creating them : only the e-mail

but the topic you discussing does not have anything to do with vpopmail.
This is a high traffic mailing list as it is, and some people quit this list only
because of this issue, do not add your share into this.
PLEASE STOP THIS DISCUSSION HERE !!! THIS IS A VPOPMAIL LIST, NOT THE SPAMMERS LIST
(yet).
If there is a "feature" that is hurting vpopmail alot in the mysql
implementation, is that it's still bouncing mail when it's unable to connect
to the mysql server (just saw this behaivour an hour ago with the 5pre3
release). will this ever be resolved ?
Alex.

Well, i have an idea that could (finally) open more doors for vpopmail -
this means in the postfix world (and there

Hello.
I am using qmail with the qmailqueue patch, and vpopmail
with --enable-roaming-users=y, and i have to add qmailqueue variable to the
default set of relayclient, rblsmtp and others. i have done it by editing
vpopmail.c and changing
fprintf( fs1, "%s:allow,RELAYCLIENT=\"\",RBLSMTPD=\"\"
well, you still have to recieve the email to route the mail to /dev/null,
but if you use the baddcptto (http://patch.be/qmail/badrcptto.html) patch,
it will do the job even before you get the body of the message. it's stable,
I am using it (and some functionality there is written by me) for a long
I actually ran into this myself, and you probaly have the same problem. try
logging into mysql with non-root user and with default RedHat installation
(that is what I am using) you will fail. mysql connectivity from the app to
the database is done through unix sockets
/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
I think it should be noted in the install docs, that the user running mrtg
should have access to the /var/qmail/queue directory, otherwise
qmailmrtg7 -q will not work. I personally running mrtg from cron under
"mrtg" user, that doesn't have access to almost anything. my solution was :
chown qmail

I hope you didn't give anyone a heart attack with that statement - only
after a few minutes i have noticed that that whole part is commented out :
cat vchkpw.c | sed -
Hello. I am checking out the clear passwords function on vpopmail with mysql
and I was wandering if there is a way to convert an existing domain to
clear passwords - I guess, what I am actually asking, is there a way to get
the original password from the crypt currently stored instead?
Alex.
Hello to all.
I would like to join to this shout for attention by stating that I have been waiting
for this patch to go into the main vpopmail release for several months now, because
this patch allows vpopmail to become MTA independent - I have done some research for
using vpopmail with postfi

At the moment I have a qmail server installed, and running happily with

I hope this doesn't sound like a vpopmail newbe question, but after some
