Hi all,
After sitting on this for a few months I finally got around to doing a
little clean code up.
Here is the original message:

you could avoid the call to getpwnam by using the constants defined in
vpopmail_config.h:
vadddomain(domain, VPOPMAILDIR, VPOPMAILUID, VPOPMAILGID);

I'll be adding forward and alias support soon,
creating/removing domains doesn't work right now.
I'm not sure how I want to deal with the parts that require root perms.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

ocess for vpopmail.pm for people using current versions
of vpopmail...but, Im not sure how I would handle versions pre 4.9.7.
Anybody have any thoughts on this?
PS: updated version (0.05) of vpopmail.pm on the way...RSN.

Can anyone (ken) tell me how long quota info has been stored in the pw_shell field of
the pwd struct?
I am adding this field to the output of vauth_getpw() in vpopmail.pm,
but want to make sure I don't break with older versions of vpopmail.
Thanks.

After building a new version of vpopmail, I would suggest re-installing vpopmail.pm

I've found that this has todo with libmysqlclient and mysql being out of
sync
That is to say, anytime I have upgraded MySQL, and not vpopmail, I get
the same messages.
Hope This helps.

Outlook98 supports LOGIN and PLAIN
So is the problem that outlook2k doesn't support PLAIN
or am I missing some key info?
Any tips, pointers, or smacks on the bald head (benny hill style)
would be appreciated.

Heres what I had todo do get it to build on my FreeBSD(4.2-RELEASE) box:
1. add "-I/usr/include/rpcsvc" to DEFS = in the Makefile
2. add "-lm" to LIBS = in the Makefile (floor() is in libm)

is there an un-documented function that
will return a list of domains that are under vpopmail control?
i looked thru vpopmail.h but saw nothing like this
if there is none, could it be done? I suppose reading thru
qmail/control/virtualdomains might be a good place to start.
I would be willing
inting that out and congrats on some nice looking code.

I think vpopmail's most useful feature is having all mail delivered to a single UID
eliminating the need for individual system accounts.
If you can, maybe you should authenticate against the system /etc/passwd | /etc/shadow
file.
rebuild vpopmail mail with: ./co
