Well, you have to change:
LDFLAGS=" -L/where/are/your/mysql/lib -lmysqlclient" ./configure --blablabla
All on the same line. To find /where/are/your/mysql/lib try
# find / -name libmysqlclient.*
But: are mysql libs installed? Did you install mysql with rpm? If it is so,
