IF it fails, the idea behind the checkpoint flag (or marker) is that
Netbackup will look at the images and verify the last checkpoint it made.
If it is present, Netbackup will start the backup from that point.
Example - Backup kicks off at 8pm with checkpoint enabled every 30 mins
8:30pm -
1) Check your policy you have configured to correct storage unit.
2) Check your bpsched logs for the availability of storage unit.
3) Check your drives are up on the server.

Hi Mitch,
The retry will use the last checkpoint. If there isn't one, it'll
start from the beginning.

I need to know if a backup job fails during the 1st attempt (example:
status 84) will the 2nd attempt (retry) continue from the 1st attempt

it's recent frozen tapes, in large amounts, I've seen this done due to hardware

Check
your media error report, it'll tell you why.

Thanks for the tips. I've looked at a client in the Client Attributes
on the Master server, but the only options I have are to connect to a
non reserved port or VNETD for connect back. Nothing to actually set
connect back to no.
Is it somewhere else?
Thanks again,
Jason

Jason,
There was a recent thread on this. Initially I was confused by the
documentation's discussion of firewall. Note that the "Firewall"
section in the GUI actually has nothing to do with Master/Media server

I don't see a change in ports.
The source port is not fixed, AFAIK.
The documentation does not specify source port, just the destination,
and which direction.
So you should have the following rules:
Any port on server to 13782 on client
Any port on client to 13724 on server

Hello All
I'm starting to get status 89 on some backups on a windows master/media
server, on a UNIX machine I would increase the amount of shared memory.
The windows machine in question have 32 GB RAM, but I'm not sure how to see
the amount of shared memory.
Also I would like to use perfmon to
