You can use 256KB buffers in Windows with either STK or the Veritas tape drives. For the Veritas tape drives it works with no issue. For the STK drivers you have to have an updated tape.sys from Microsoft that's included in SP2 or as a hotfix for SP1. With this updated tape.sys file the 256KB
