Dear Admins,
I have a master server running 6.0 MP4. This master server is in
cluster.
On connecting to it using the Windows Java Console, If I go into Backup,
Archive and Restore window, I don't see the client list in Source
client for restore and Destination client for restore.
Hi,
For 2 weeks running i have had 1 policy which hasn't run a weekly full backup.
It submits the parent job but sits there looking for a stream but eventually
fails with a 200 schedule found no backups due to run. I have checked the
policy and first thing is that the daily incrementals and

Hi,
For 2
Chris,
Are all the schedules in that policy set to calendar? Schedules within a
policy either need to be all calendar based (or not)

The client name has to be added.
In my experience - the xwindows console on the master will have all the
clients
But if you are using the windows console on a server other then the
master, you have to add the name. ( the button that says edit)
I have been using the windows console for
Thanks for your replies...
All of our policies are setup the same, i.e. the weekly and monthly backups are
calendar based and the daily incrementals are frequency. This has never caused
a problem before.
Also, reading that tech note, all of our policies are set the same...so the

Happy to be proven wrong, is it worth creating a new policy for this, in
case there is something that has become corrupt within the existing
policy?
Its just an after thought really.
Sorry the doc wasnt much help

Our answer is either Go read the manual or at least check the help
included with the command.
You have to at least TRY to do some of the work...

We use Puredisk to back up file servers at our remote sites. We then replicate
that backed up data to a duplicate puredisk server at our DR site.
The backups to the Puredisk server in our data center work great but some of
the replication jobs sending the data to the DR site fail on occasion
Hi all,
Ive found that the new 6.5.3 patch seems to make the GUI more hungry for
memory and slower than the 6.5.2 version.
Anybody else see this ?

bperror -U -problems -hoursago 24
this is the bperror command I currently have.
but this shows errors for restores as well as backups.
does anybody know the trick to get to only show errors for backups.
I tried the -t backstat but that gives me restore errors as well.
Dear Judy,
I think if you add -t BACKUP to it, so that it would read:
bperror -U -problems -t BACKUP -hoursago 24
should do it ...
Cheers
John

Dear Judy,
Hi All,
we are planing to move our netbackup master server to newely built Windows 2003

the tape drives were detected for master (all the drives are visible

Sounds like some sort of inconsistency.
Not sure what your plan is to move to a new master - Are you using
bprecover to restore everything back to the new platform? Ideally, it's
be better to restore everything to the new hardware, using the same
OS/NetBackup revisions from the previous master.
You could on the old master: do one catalogbackup, then delete all the devices,
and do second catalogbackup(to disk.
And use the last catalogbackup for recovery on the new master.. and then set up
devices like it should be.
I've done this successfully on an numerous sites. Not from W2000 to
