I have a NetApp Server with 18TB's of Data, being passed via NDMP. It is very
problematic. I am doing Snap Mirror to tape, just to backup the data, which
completes in just under 2 days.
Not ideal, but with 500 million files+ the NDMP is not quick, and we had case
after case logged over this!

We have SAP Systems that do not run during the day, and if they overrun, get

I had to do this when importing LTO1 Tapes into a new NBU Database
(Painful story!!) but yes, this ensures its not over-written! However,
the BAD side is this..
IF the tape expires, it goes into scratch... A job will grab the tape
and try to write!
