Gents,
It looks like this limitation is not that critical. I had a word with my local
SE and he has confirmed this limitation only affects installations which use
AWS OST plug-ins outside of the US region.
Everyone else can upgrade from 7.5.0.7 to 7.6.0.1, no worries.

I was curious about this as it didn't sound right. But Mikhail is correct.

The only caveat of the 7.5.0.7 patch is that you can't upgrade 7.5.0.7 to
7.6 yet.
So, if anyone is planning upgrade to 7.6 soon - do not install 7.5.0.7

Finally able to get to Symantec web sites. The issue with the TIR pruning not
working correctly is isolated to 7.5.0.6. There is a specific EEB that you can
get to patch either NBU 7.5.0.6 or appliance version 2.5.3. The other solution
is to patch up to NBU 7.5.0.7 or appliance version 2.5.4.
Actually, there are two significant database changes. The EMM database is
being upgraded from Sybase 11 to Sybase 12. This is one of the causes for
lengthy upgrades. This process (I believe) is to actually dump the database,
upgrade Sybase and then reload the database. This is where if you h
I've heard there is an issue with Client Direct and Accelerator enabled
backups that will fail if the Media servers are at 7.6.0.1 but the clients
are 7.5 or 7.1. The workaround, as I've heard it, is to upgrade the clients
to 7.6.0.1 to resolve the issue, don't patch the media servers yet, or turn

I'm going thru the same thing on monday, upgrade master from 7.5.x to 7.6.0.1
and upgrade appliance from 2.5.2 to 7.6version.
theres only 4 EEBS listed on the LBN (late breaking news) and I called a SYMC

We've upgraded a test lab appliance from 2.5.3 to 2.6.0.1 (7.6.0.1 NBU
version). Only had problems with the Self Test portion, which seems to
happen every time. Once we worked out those issues, the patch went through
just fine. Plan to start production upgrades next week.

Anyone upgraded from NBU v7.5.x or Appliance v2.5.2 to 7.6.0.1 and 2.6.0.1
respectively?
Patching for the NBU piece reads as not complicated - straight up patch.
The Appliance piece I've not had a chance to look into yet.
Looking for tips and issues.
Thanks,
Scott
