Hello
colleagues,
We have two nodes forHA cluster installation.
They has identical OS version (Solaris 5.9), but different kernel
patch level 118558-30 vs. 118558-25.
Is it admissible configuration of cluster or even patch
level must be identical?
Thanks,
Sergey
Sergey,
My guess is that the vendor will stipulate
an OS patch level for your HA Cluster version, as the HA cluster is dependant
on the specific OS patch number it was developed on. Otherwise new
patches which haven't been tested by the vendor prior to you installing
could have an adverse on
VCS supports any release and patch level that the version
of VCS supports within a single cluster.
So you do not need identical patch levels, or even same OS
release.
best practice would be to keep same, but we can easily
support multiple versions during upgrades.

While we recommend same OS rev and kernel patch, it's not a
requirement. Differences should be transitional,
though.
For instance, VCS 5.0 supports Solaris 8, 9 and 10.
Therefore, you can mix Solaris 8, 9 and 10 nodes in the same cluster while
you're in the midst of getting all nodes
