because all they represent is a point in time where you felt like
backing up everything. If everyone on your team uses SVN as a backup

I own Versions, I use it every now and then to see if the
product and support will get any better, but honestly, I've gotten so
fed-up with the problems and the seemingly glacial speed at which
updates/fixes are released that I bought Cornerstone.

both cases, no .svn files appeared in the destination folder(s).

Fat fungers and the two keys are next to each other. :-)
Thanks for correcting it, Rob.

it would be for a
live, production site. So, why would you need SVN there?
I know my reply didn't really answer your questions, but it sounds
like you are very new to SVN, so the answers you seek are likely to be
more easily found elsewhere, such as subversion.tigris.org,
getpantheon, etc.
Re
post, and others have said here, I can no
longer recommend Versions to colleagues and feel a little embarrassed
for doing so to some others.
Add to this the rising popularity of decentralized version control
systems such as Git, Mercurial, and Bazaar... It makes me co

Mac, I can no longer recommend Versions. This is a real shame,
because it is (was) such a nice product.
I'm wishing the best of success to the team for quick resolution of
the outstanding issues.

Note to self. Skip update 1.0.6 too.

I guess with a niche product on a relatively small platform this is
not something you run into a lot, yet it's surprising that you have no

If the updating of repository badges from slow connections does affect
the overall performance of Versions, perhaps this aspect of the
product could be handled by worker threads, lea

deal if implemented, but why do so if it's really unnecessary?

I've recently converted to Mac/Versions from Windows/TortoiseSVN.
