I've been told that some people don't save the DVD jackets, but keep just the

Good tips. This summer a friend of mine hooked a big snook while blind casting
during a lull in the tarpon action. It was gone like it was shot from a rifle.
The slack comming off the deck looped up and wraped around the reel. It was a

Chuck, I made a mini lathe with my dremel, using an upholstery needle to hold
the foam and a emery board to shape it. I used a towel to protect my dremel and
put it in my bench vise.

A simple tube "vise" for tying on Q-Tip tubes is made from a piece of
brass wire. I'll try and find a way to upload a photo to the group
site, but if I can't I'll post again and make it available in another
way. The idea can, of course, be extended to other tube diameters.

If for some reason you wanted to use balsa instead of closed cell foam,
you can buy balsa shaped circular in long rods from a model shop or
sometimes hardware stores for only a couple dollars, and they can be
easily shaped by putting a nail through the centre and into a dremel or
regular drill
Alan: Thanks, but I can't find popper bodies there. I typed in both "popper
body" and "popper bodies" into the search bar, and then I went to the fly tying
section too. I must be overlooking them, Chuck

This is how i do it. I hardly ever 'reel" in a fish. I cast with my right, then
strip it in with my left. But to your original question Jimmy. Whatever feels
"NATURAL" to you, that is the 'CORRECT" way to do it, Chuck
