In the “good old days’ I used to buy “Perfection” snake guides made in USA but
later, some that I purchased were labelled made in Mexico. In this part of the
world I don’t see perfection guides much any more. The late Dave Lewis used Pac
Bay guides for his custom rods spoke well of

I have a 7wt 2 piece Tiger Eye Blank that I'm thinking about building and am
sorting through some of the different fly rod guides out there.
Has anyone used the Snake Brand Universal guides? The talk about them seems
to be good, but they are more expensive? Or how about

I used some Hopkins Holloway guides on my last rod and like them because
they required little prep and seem to wrap well. Thanks for the info.
