When I tie on dumbbell eyes I build at dam of thread in front and back of where I want the eyes to set. I have some material that is thick and works to do this.  I then tie on the dumbbell eyes with figure 8 thread wraps and use superglue to hold them on. Rick __

Wes, you already got good advice on this. What i do additionally is to form a little ball/bump on the hook shank, which will be at the back side of the eyes. First do the bump, than set the eyes with figure eight wraps, while the bump is stabilizing the eye. Secure all with cement, and that's it. I
