Peter, Here's one way to get around this: Create a smart playlist in iTunes and name it "New Vodcast" or whatever you like.  Add a rule for Play Count to equel zero.  Also add a rule that Podcast must be true.  Once you've watched a video all the way through, it will get removed from the list.
