Thanks, Gena. And FWIW, I wasn't lamenting at all! While sometimes I just
have to chuck a few thousand mailing list messages rather than try to catch
up, I kind of like that there's still essentially one place to keep up with
y'all.

Hey Ryan - I think it that VoxMedia doesn't get the publicity as the
other vlogging help sites. I also think that some of us, myself
included need to start populating the pages. I actually prefer the
wiki to forums.
I enjoyed creating the screen recording page and had planned on doing

I think it's a brilliant idea.
As you said, real world with a checklist.
Does it fit in a purse?
How's the battery life?
Is it easy to get your files from the device.
Can you easily control the camera when looking at it from the front?
Sounds quite handy for the new vlogger-wannabes who are undec

This is most definitely a FAQ. I love reading the responses (and now I'm
looking again at that Panasonic GS150), but I'm wondering if we might also
collaboratively build a wiki page where we list what hardware we use, how
we like it, pros, cons, etc.

Wow -
where did you get that? My son loves making movies, but I won't let him use my
camera. If I could find one (digital camera - not webcam) for under $100 I would
buy it for him.

I picked up a very inexpensive ($80us) used Vivitar DVR-310 with a
1gig memory card. This Digital Video Recorder (DVR) stores the video
on SD memory cards. The unit is very small (fits in a shirt pocket)
and also has a built in 3mb camera and mp3 player.
It can tape video in 640x480 or 320x240 res.

Shopping? I love camera shopping. Allow me to share a frugal and
practical approach to vlogging camcorder buying. Now frugal doesn't
necessarily mean tacky, cheap or sub-quality.
