As mentioned ":vim" already has a meaning, and we don't want to change that.

:vim is :vimgrep. This will not be changed due to backwards compatibility.
You can use cnoreabbrev/cnoremap to make an alias yourself like in e.g.

This is NOT a bug report, this is simply a feature request, most of which
are usually done through the project's `issues` framework thing. Also, I
