I've got a DVD of pretty much all Macintosh repair manuals. If you need one, just holler back. Here is a link to an exploded view of the 128K I took off the manual, in PDF form...BTW, it the section I got this off of also covers the 512K, but it's the same thing: http://s202.photobucket.com/al

Two things that I can think of. First off, your CD rom in the 7500 might be so old it doesn't like DVD-Rs. I have seen this in some CD drives in some old powermacs. 2nd, what format did you make the CD? Did you make it in ISO 9660 or Mac format? Try one of each and see if one will be read.

i dont know much about the old PPC macs... but... i suspect the CD drive in the 7500 is having trouble reading the CD-Rs you burnt in the G4... also applies to older PCs, especially pre-pentium laptops... On Sun, Feb 15, 2009 at 10:05 PM, Alex Rubli wrote: > > Hello > > hope this is the right

Given that you have a classic, you can try the unique trick of holding down CMD-OPT-X-O at startup to boot off ROM. Unfortunately, one of the reasons an old startup disk can't be found is that its died. Hopefully its something more mundane, like a bad SCSI ID (don't use 0 or 7 as a rule of thumb).
