Normally the adapter has a sticker containing the different dip switch combinations to get the allowed resolutions! (at least mine has...) Although with a LC II you won't be able to go very far in terms of resolutions - probably up to 832x624 with 4-bit color, or less (I don't remember how much VR

SE won't boot from either floppy or hard drive

I picked up an SE (M5011) recently. When I turn the power on, the screen lights up and I get the diskette icon with the question mark that is apparently looking for a boot disk. I have both a 20 Mb hard drive and a floppy drive in the unit. I hear no sound from the hard drive at all, and when I

By model number, it should be a 128k Mac. But, given its age, you never know what's been done to it. It could have been upgraded to a 512k logic board without a back cover change, or any of a variety of accelerators and addons done to it. Without opening it up (or booting it) you can't be sure
