The Macintosh Centris. I felt like starting a discussion about this, seeing as I recently found a fully working Macintosh Centris 660av from eBay. I actually made this video unboxing it (watch if you want I don't care: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lddp3vMa4hc ), and then I decided to start t

A good idea would be to do what I did for the Centris 660av and just look around eBay for a bit. Unfortunately most of the computers being sold are broken or only power tested (PLEASE STOP IT'S ANNOYING), but eventually you'll find a vintage mac that works fully and is compatible with SCSI. --

It might? I've gotten my old iMac DV from 1999 online using a modern Apple laptop, an ethernet cable, and internet sharing. However, since you're using a laptop, 1. make sure you have airport, and 2. make sure you can use the correct security type (WPA I'm pretty sure) for your WIFI network, and

I did it to a PowerBook G4 using "special tactics" so watch this section from one of my tech video logs to see that. I'll preface this by saying it took a USB drive, an old Intel MacBook, and the PowerBook: https://youtu.be/3NmgfLdyEcw?t=10m59s -- -- - You received this message because yo

I quite liked the Centris 650 back in the day. It was reasonably quick for its time and had (IIRC) 3 x Nubus slot. I used one as a server back in the day - a job that it did very capably (File server + FileMaker Pro). The IIvx was one of those machines that looked great in the pre-sales marke

I agre with superstar64. System 6.0.7 (or 6.0.8) would be a sweet spot for a Mac SE. Pretty stable and nice snappy performance. System 7.0.1 would work well, but is a bit "laggy" on the SE. -- -- - You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group. The list FA

… speaking of the IIvx - i remember my first mac, the inglorious IIvi. my father had the best intentions in 1992, but unfortunately chose exactly one of the models that fit perfectly into this category. after the huge investment there was no money left, to populate one of the nubus slots with a
