All,
Sorry about all the newbie questions, but...
I've just downgraded an IIcx w/17MB RAM from SSW 7.5.5 to SSW 7.1. I
have installed Sys. Update 3.0 and have installed MacTCP and the appropriate
Ethernet card drivers. I have also installed Netscape 3.0.4 and upgraded the
RAM to 20MB.

I just updated an LCII with an LCIII board, and my existing HD with system

startup disk can not be used with this Macintosh model (or something close

Yup.
If so, how can I get SE 003 on to my HD now. I
can't even boot with the
7.1 disks. Same screen.

That, or so I thought, only works on NN 2.0.2, doesn't it?
It bombs with MacWeb, too.
As Gregg said, did you install Mode32?
Yes
Why not run Netscape 4 on there? 3.x was buggy as hell. Not that 4.x
isn't, it's just less so :)

Oh, I didn't know that.
I had wanted a quick startup of both the OS and the browser. Besides, I
don't need all the other features of Communicator.

I love 7.1. Nice clean OS.
Applaud! I love 7.1 too!
I already did the motherboard mombo and she's running fine.
I LOVE these LC computers, one of the most stylish, well designed computers
ever.
huh!
Does anyone know where I can get that disk image of OS 7.5.3
Yes, HE meant the case; mostly.
But I also love the LC as a computer. One thing about old Apples is the
feeling each one has. I've been in computers since 1968, and the Mac's are
the ones I keep going back to for fun.
And I have my own PC computer business!

Make a floppy of it, stick it in the LCIII and startup. If the Mac spits
