I have a System 7.5.5 talking to OSX using Appletalk. It works pretty well. I make sure file sharing is turned on and then I just go into Network in OSX and browse the System 7.5.5 machine and get in that way. I also reverse and use Appleshare to browse the OSX machine and access the OSX

Douglas' post got me thinking. My MacTV is just used as, well, a TV. It would be nice if it would pick up Caller ID numbers and speak them (or speak a name/phrase from a database). Is there any kind of packaged stuff out there for this kind of thing? Thanks. -Original Message-

I've tried browsing for it, but the OS X machine can't see it. When I connect from the OS 8 box to the OS X box, it can't see it, but it can connect if I give it the IP address. I've been able to drop files into the 'drop box' section of OS X, so at least I can get stuff transferred. It's
