Could also be lack of driver for the CD drive. If it came with a driver CD, pop it in and I believe it will recognize it and let you install the driver and away you go. Dave PS I on the other hand have a CD drive & driver CD but 7.5 on my IIci won't permit the driver to install. I think it is

Is there a way to make the computer (a IIci in this case) ignore a system folder? I'm thinking of archive files or another HD with a system on it that I want to use but not boot from or confuse the computer. It doesn't seem as easy as re-naming or putting in another folder. Suggestions? Tks Da

Just a guess but is it possible Stufffet Expander might help? Another thought, is it possible the OS may be newer onthe Classic and not compatable? That said, I have seen multi-part archives where the first disc would run & join the rest but it doesn't seem to be the case for your files. Not muc

Ken, Clarke The drive is SCSI, a 6G Quantum Fireball under the LaCie label and the jumper settings for SCSI ident do work as advertised. I say it that way because when I put it in the external chain as 0 it confuses with the internal HD as expected and when it is some other ID it is seen OK. Th
