The one I have in my hand , Model A824 uses a 9 volt DC 'wall wart'. What
The supply unit was rated at 500 ma with center as positive. Having a unit
that will supply over that shouldn't be a problem, IMO.

If it wants AC, you stand a pretty good chance. If it's a poorly regulated
DC supply, you *also* stand a pretty good chance of killing it.
