that when there is something attached to it, it does something along

I've never had an issue with my Plus and SCSI. I boot mine from a SCSI
drive, have an external Apple SCSI CD-ROM drive attached and use an Asan
te EN/SC SCSI to ethernet adapter. No problems as long as you watch
your termination and cabling.

Thank you all for the help. The problem was indeed with the floppy
drive. I replaced with a working one (thank you Jeff) and it worked.
But I only know it worked because the floppy disk was not expelled,
and I heard the drive sounds as if the System was being loaded. The
screen is now dark. I d
