overly long to download the iPad will disconnect, but this is

Thanks for the detailed instructions. ITunes has been downloading the
update for the last 15 minutes or so. I assume ITunes will let me
know when it is done.

Try a different USB port on your computer and if that doesn't work try a
different Lightning cable.
Alternatively, give the iPad to whoever at you r work place is dealing with
such stuff and let them worry about it.

Yes, I've also experienced what you describe with some apps. Not sure if it's
due to funky focus issues or what but when they do work and stick properly,
they're a big help.
