I am casting about for an alternative to a hardware in-car navigation
system. Since I already have access to an iPad Mini and Navagon, I'm
curious if anyone on this list can recommend a compatible GPS receiver
to make Navagon practical.

Many years ago I needed to be able to count seconds for radio
production. A sighted friend, who did color photographic processing
recommended a simple digital metronome. Set at 60 BPS it worked well for
the several years I had that job.
Sometimes the simple solutions are the best.

I have used the Beacon IR remote blaster witch I purchased from Best Buy
for about $50. It works quite well with DIJIT and also provides a
virtual remote control as part of it's App.
