Hi alan,
Actually, if you have the track in your library and it's not from iTunes, you
can still download the iTunes version during the time you're subscribed to
iTunes Match, and you can keep that copy even after the subscription runs out.

Anna

Okay thanks. That makes sense. You're entitled to get an iTunes Match version
of any music you're deemed to own but you're not entitled to download a track
you were eligible to listen to as a Match subscriber but never purchased or
already had in your personal library.

Hi all,
I was telling a friend about iTunes match, not something I use myself. He
would like to know the cost of a subscription and if it is a purchase from

It's US$25, and you purchase it by going to the Store menu in iTunes and

I have a yearly subscription to iTunes match that is up for renewal next
month. I want to cancel it before it renews. How do I go about canceling
my subscription?

Hi,
The easiest thing is probably to open iTunes on your computer, choose Store,
and sign into your account. Find the automatic payment for iTunes Match, and
turn it off.

Anna

Hi Anna! Thank you very much for your help. Now once I turned off the
automatic renew for iTunes match it said that after my expiration date my
music will no longer be in the cloud. Do I need to download everything on
to my phone now before match expires?

Hi,
The music you bought from iTunes will still be available in iCloud. Once iTunes
Match expires, you'll need to sync with iTunes to get other music onto your
phone.

Anna,
Maybe you can help me understand iTunes Match by answering this. I think of
Match as being a type of streaming music service. My understanding is that
music streaming services will let you play their content located in the cloud
as long as you're paying their subscription fee. I didn't
Hi alan,
iTunes Match is not like a typical streaming service. It basically lets you
treat the music you get from places other than iTunes as though it was iTunes
music. It goes through your music collection, and when it encounters songs
available in the iTunes store, it makes copies of those
