Thanks for sharing that bit of info. I do find it hard to imagine you could get
the better speed and not have to pay something for it. I know VZW charges
differently for their LTE plans, but that may have something to do with the
amount of data more than the speed at which you consume it.

hi.
Will only the new iPhone 5 be able to work on 4g?
Thanks.

Yes, on ATT only, if you use a 4S, HSPA+ is described as 4G. This is a
branding exercise on the part of ATT. Everywhere else in the world, HSPA+
is considered, and labelled, 3G. LTE is true 4G, and it's only in the iPhone
5.

You can bet ATT will charge for the LTE (or 4G) service. I would bet that
phones by default connect to 3G and if you want the LTE speeds you would have
to request that through the carrier. I sure would not be happy to be paying the
same cost as you and you get faster speeds. :)

Unless things are going to be different for the apple devices, 4g will
not cost extra. Currently, at least for devices that support LTE,
android and alike, the cost is exactly the same as it is for 3g, on the
IPhone4.

I cannot believe they do not charge for the faster speed. Of course maybe since
you chew through the data faster that is the tradeoff. And hey maybe you will
go over your cap and they can charge you even more. :)

began to get these strange texts, informing me on how to better manage
my faster 4g speeds. They'd give you a few examples of locations with
