Gmail supports both POP3 and IMAP.
I never mess with my All Mail folder. I just delete messages from my in
box or move them into folders if I want to hold on to them. The messages
I delete end up in the Trash folder and disappear after about 30 days.
I just use my All Mail folder to look for
I'm using gmail which I think is IMAP. I have emails as old as mid march in the
all mail folder. I keep deleting them and they keep coming back.
