I'm wanting to give IOS 8 a try but my phone is currently jail broken. I
would like to save my jail break settings and apps. Can someone who has gone
through this tell me what is the best way to go about making a copy of my
settings and app so I can restore it back later when IOS 8 has been jail

AFAIK this isn't possible anymore, but you should be able to sign into
Cydia once jailbroken again download things that you've already
purchased without paying again.

this issue, probably something got out of wack with the ipod database
