Hi Ann,
You didn't state what device that your student is using to send text messages
to her friends who have android phones? Any iDevice can send & receive text
messages from any iDevice. An iPhone can send text messages to & receive text
messages from someone with an android phone, as long
the same issue. He can send text to I Phones but not
others. Seems odd to me!

I've never had problems with that. texting has always worked just fine out of
the box.

Does your student have sms turned on? I think if that's not on the messages
all defalt to iMessage and that is apple only.
