It will work if you do it as soon as you take the phone out of the box. In

I honestly wouldn't bother. Most cases create a slight ridge surrounding the
screen. If you were to drop the phone, there is a decent chance the display
wouldn't come in contact with the surface. Assuming your not dropping it in a
rocky out cropping or something. haha. Screen protectors

Actually, it is very difficult to crack the screen. I have never used a screen
protector for either my iPhone 4 or 5, and both have been dropped. The glass in
the 4 is the same glass used in helicopters, and the glass in the 5 is even
