Larry,
In that case I suggest you give Apple support a call. I have my Apple TV
plugged into my HT receiver via HDMI.
Apple TV doesn't give you access to "regular TV". It gives you access to
iTunes content as well as content from some streaming services. I'd
suggest checking out the What's on Apple TV page at

DUMB I know, but what exactly can Apple TV show? There are cards you can put
into a windows computer and watch regular TV. Is this what it is? If so, very
interested. If not, is there an app that would do this. Haven't been following
thread, but since everyone has been chatting so much, thought
Yes, it does not come with an HDMI cable. That has to be purchased
separately

in the apple TV settings. I now have HDMI connected from the apple TV to the LG
hometheater. The LG hometheater is connected via HDMI to the television. I
turned dolby digital off in the apple settings. So far, voiceov

different HDMI standards. I have my Apple TV connected to one of the 6 HDMI
inputs of my sony home theatre receiver and it works flawlessly.
Theoretically it should work fine and the point of having a home theatre
It is a single cable that goes from your AppleTV to your stereo.

Do you have the composite audio cable going from the apple TV to the speakers,
or from the television to the speakers? This cable you speak of, is it a single
cable, or is it the same as the A/V cable? Thanks

system. That is how I have the Apple TV hooked to my Bose. It sounds a hell of
a lot better.
