I am using both apple music and spotify!
what I found is:
when I Close the Spotify app oon the app switcher ! and double tap with 2
fingers or prress the play/paus button on your headset.
it will continue playing your spotify music.
but, in apple music.

No opinions here, just an option to have at your disposal. Someone posted a
very good scenario where an album isn’t available on Apple Music but is
available on Spotify and vice versa.

Yeah, Spotify is still more difficult to use on the iPad unfortunately. Yet
works well on the iPhone and should be the same on the iPod since well the iPod
is an iPhone without the phone.
