If you're using the BANA code, 'you can't enter a smilieface or frownieface, though, because the symbols are exactly alike, in terms of how they look in Braille. If you use UEB, however, you can make smilie/frownie faces, since left parin and right parin are now two distinct symbols. I'm not

Yes, it's doable. It's a matter of entering the text equivalent for the emoticon e.g., :) for the smiley face. You'd have to remember the punctuation marks that form the emoticon, but it's doable. VO reads the text equivalent, too. HTH, Dani, who'll go look to see what I can find re text
