Actually, no, it is not a bug in either Kindle, the book, or VO. When the
language is set to default language, any other language mark is read in that
language by that language voice. Since it sounded like an Asian voice, there
was most likely some sort of character mark in that particular langu
There may have been something on page written in another language. One letter
in a non-European language is enough to activate the relevant voice until it's
reached. Then it switches back. It's an annoying bug in the last release of
iOS. Does this make sense?

I went to the next page and the behavior stopped. It was a notes page at the
end of the chapter so maybe something on that page triggered it.

This sounds like it could be a bug with Karen or with the book, but I don't
know why only that voice would bring it out.
I'd send the name of the book and where it happens in the book to both Apple
accessibility and Amazon customer service with your explanation of the issue.
