I haven't used the Chirpomatic app in a year. I tried using the app on an iPhone 7. The recordings were very low in their volume, unless the bird was very close, like in a tree just above my head. The Bird Song ID app I have tried also lowers the volume as soon as you tap on the tab for recording bird songs, so yes, it would seem it may have something to do with the microphone. Hi, It looks as though the ChirpOmAtic and the one I suggested “Chirp USA” are from the same developer. By the way, I just looked in the app store, and the one I recommended is listed as “chirp! Bird songs & calls USA.” I looked up what I paid, and it was $3.95 in December, 2016. Because it is on my phone, I can’t tell if the price has changed. I think I am going to get the “CirPOMAtic” and try it out. Although birds aren’t really singing as much this time of year in my suburban environment. It will be interesting to see how it handles multiple birds. Take care!
