Hi,
I have a question about timeout in vnc viewer. I am running a simple
application which fetches several web pages from a web server. The
network (between vnc viewer and vnc server) is forced to be lossy with
random packet loss of 15-18% each way.
At about 15% random packet loss, vnc viewer (

If so how did you do it.

Heya. As YDG suggested, you'll need to make 5 "port
forwarding" entries into the router that's doing the IP address

1. External TCP port 5900 to your first PC's port 5900
2. External TCP port 5901 to your second PC's port 5900

Not sure if this is helpful or even relevant but the page:

gives one's IP addy & full URL, at the top of their page. In my case
this show the info for the router which I am behind.

Bob,
Sorry for the late response.
Forgive me if I am misunderstanding the question, but I thought this
was how VNC was supposed to work. When the viewer disconnects, the
server session remains active -- the display is retained, programs
keep running etc.
I use this all the time... from the offi

I'm trying to use the latest release, RealVNC 3.3.4, on Windows 2000.
The problem I'm having is with enabling the loopback. On the older
versions of VNC there was an Advanced option in the properties of the
server where you could enable loopback. On the newest version I don't
have this.

In order to get the dual monitors to work in XP with the patch you have to use an
older version if VNC. I had 3.3.4 and it would not work. However, when I downgraded
to 3.3.3 r9 it worked first shot. I don't know why the different versions make a
difference with the patch but it worked.

I am using 3.3.3 R 9 and am having several problems. I install winvnc and
every time I restart the computer, I am prompted to enter the password. The
other problem is that I am unable to reboot a remote server due to not being
able to get back in using vnc. This only happens when restarting. Any id
We have VNC running on our servers. We recently uninstalled VNC on one of

Good Morning:
Previously, I had put a posting on view problems with VNC. Since then, I have found

This is the xstartup file config that I have:

i think what you'll have to do is run the vnc server on each computer,
but set each one to use a different port [i think this is possible]. and
then forward the appropriate port to the corresponding internal ip. im
assuming you're using some kind of router to share one ip with 5 computer.
