Having installed VNC 4.0 beta 4, I have now lost all VNC functionality.
Attempting to connect, my viewer reports error 10061 connection refused.
The system-tray icon displays mouse-over pop-up "VNC server (service): not
accepting connections." and right-click "Options" is gray disabled.

Using newest stable release of vnc viewer on windows 2003 and starting the
vncserver on redhat9 by using the following:
vncserver -depth 16 -geometry 800x600
also have tried "vncserver" all on it's own.
Here is a copy of my xstartup:

[ -r $HOME/.Xresources ] && xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
i just started using vnc from windows 2003 viewer to a linux vnc server. It
seems quite slow. It's just a local connection at home so I was thinking
performance would be better since there's no traffic. Any help would be
appreciated. Also, I'm running this on redhat 9. How can I make vnc

Hi
Is there anybody who successfully solved the problem that he cannot change
the defaultsettings because *VNC thinks this user is not an administrator.
I tried with two different users, both in group of administrators, and i
always get this message. I tried with RealVNC, UltraVNC and TightVNC.

Jonathan,
look at these people - they provide an excellent way to get at systems that
connect to the net via allocated (hence dynamic) IP addresses:
http://www.no-ip.com - works for me!
I think they will answer your problem

Matt, this indeed did work and removed the icon from the system tray after
deleting the WinVNC registry key you mentioned from the path you gave me,
and it took effect after rebooting the machine.
Thanks again for the great tip.

Easy, or hard? Use VNC to create Flash presentations, go to this web page:

Here is what would really help, implementing vnc2swf into vnc and then
all of us that want to give tutorials to the ones that can't get vnc
working can
give it with vnc into swf..

Hi Guys
Does anyone know when or if VNC 4.0b5 is out. Just I am starting to miss,
options like:
Lock Workstation on exit
Force screen refresh
Logoff on exit.
I want to move up from 3.3.7 but can't because these options are not in yet.
Beta 4 rocks on stability and performance, just need the opt
Hi All,
We had downloaded the Real VNC Viewer for Windows CE. We want to customize
the viewer to the WinCE embedded device so that the screen resolution of the
server (1024 * 768) gets scaled to that of viewer (800 * 600).
Any ideas about approaching this will be highly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that deleting the VNC-realted key (I can't remember it
exactly) from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
will prevent the icon from showing at all in all versions of VNC prior to V4.

works fine just like I expected. But still I have one concern, when
a user is logged out you cannot get control over the machine
because it expect to be confirmed by a user.
Is there a way that if no user is logged or the user is l
