Hi,
I am sure it is not a matter with windows firewall or ports, as the
changes I made for my OS hardening deal with
file permissions (NTFS), user rights assignments (secpol.msc) & disabling
unncessary services (services.msc).
I suspected it might be user rights assignments but I tested for 2

Hi VNC-list
I have a problem with forwarding a virtual server on port 80 to
another server running "VNC viewer for java version 4.0" running on
port 5800 on a internal server. The "VNC viewer for java version 4.0"
shows up in my browser and a "Java applet Window" with the

Hello,
This is the setup:

Please set correct fontPath in the vncserver script.
Couldn't start Xvnc process.

I am having trouble trying to use VNC to connect to a PC on a peer to peer
network that connects to the web using adsl. I think the problem is with the
port mapping in the adsl switch - it asks me for the private port and the
public port - should these both be 5900?

Is windows firewall running, and have you set an exception for ports
5800 and 5900

Thanks.
I am running my windows machines on Win 2k with SP3.
So it'll be purely vncviwer without remote desktop connection, especially
since
I invoke my vnc session from my sun machine. I'll try it out and hopefully,
I'll get my vnc session back up soon. Cheers.
regards. Joshua

Hi,
I am trying to access my windows server from my sun box using vnc3.3.
However, after I did some OS hardening, I am no longer
able to access the windows machine. The subject "ReadFromRFBServer:

after failing to access my windows machine. Does vncvi
