You need a window manager running. If you're just seeing the grey Xwindows screen, that's the problem. There is a script (on RedHat/Fedora) in ~/.vnc called "xstartup" which reads: #!/bin/sh # Red Hat Linux VNC session startup script exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc That is not being started or you h
