Rebooting from TechTool CD shows both drive partitions there and no problem.
Try clean install - same problem.
Try install on second partition - same problem.

The one useful thing about the Australian AppleStore is that it's updated by
America, which means that we can see the new pricing straight away. The recent
favourable exchange rate helps as well.
