It's been a while since I last used my old Lombard for outputting to a TV. To get any Mac to display on a TV (if it is a model with the option (which the Lombard is)), you need to plug the Mac into the video-out destination first and then either wake up or turn on the Mac. If it is connected

Try out the Screen Spanning Doctor, a utility that enables the monitor-spanning features of the video hardware in everything from iBooks to G4 iMacs. Apple disabled the feature to try and encourage users to buy the more expensive Powerbooks and G4s.
