More info. Back to iiNet. This (new) support guy knows about the problem. It has been reported a few days ago and the upstream provider is working on it with an expected fix time of about a day or so. Of course I believe that! :-) All we have to do is be patient. He finished by advising me to

iCal events disappearing as if by magic

Here's a weird one. I put in an event into iCal. Name it and even put an alarm on it. Within 10 seconds the event disappears. You can even see it happening. Only that event. (I haven't deselected the calendar). 17MBP, 10.4.9, iCal 2.0.5. Tried help files and Apple support web site. I was
